ABOUT THIS HOP
The Ellwood is Box Hop's newest and sixth cabin, a single-story, minimal Mid-Century design built to span a ravine directly over a waterfall. It's named after Craig Ellwood, the influential Los Angeles designer of the 1970s, celebrated for his steel-and-glass minimalism. The inspiration couldn't be more fitting.
Although everything is on one story, this home is a jaw-dropper. As the only Hocking Hills cabin with a private waterfall flowing directly beneath it, you're suspended in the air overlooking the ravine's edge. A custom glass floor lets you watch it happen right beneath your feet. Season after season, it stops people in their tracks. Watch the water tumble in spring and summer, or see it lock into majestic frozen sculptures in winter, all from right where you're standing. This house is secluded, peaceful, and a fan favorite by far.

Life Above the Falls
From inside, three large panoramic windows frame the ravine and the waterfall's edge in every direction. But the real showstopper is underfoot: a glass floor lets you peer straight down to catch a glimpse of the water just before it tumbles over the edge.
Positioned towards the top of the 75-acre property, this waterfall cabin in Hocking Hills is as breathtaking in every season as it is private. You can also hike marked trails nearby to discover the larger cave and waterfall on the property.

THE AREA
Hocking Hills, Ohio
The Hocking Hills region sits on the Allegheny Plateau in Appalachian Ohio, primarily in Hocking County. The area is defined by dramatic cliffs, gorges, rock shelters, and waterfalls, all shaped by the ancient Blackhand Sandstone formation, which creates the high cliffs and narrow, deep gorges that make this one of Ohio's most striking landscapes.
The Ellwood is one of just a handful of true Hocking Hills cabins with a waterfall on the property itself. No driving to a state park required. Coffee shops, antique stores, hiking trails, wineries, and breweries are all within easy reach when you want to venture out.

The driveway is a long gravel road. During inclement weather, an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. The driveway is maintained by a local company.
PROPERTY ACCESS
The home is accessed with a key in a lockbox next to the door. Contactless check-in makes arrival seamless at any hour.

This property is pet-free to be considerate of our guests with pet allergies.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Your 50% deposit made at the time of booking is non-refundable. Your full balance can be applied to booking one of our other houses and/or different dates if done more than 30 days prior to your stay. If you paid in full when you booked, a 50% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 30 days before your stay. The cleaning fee will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to your stay.

Perfect Mother-Daughter Weekend Hopper!
Beautiful and so unique! A true nature oasis with wonderful natural light through perfectly placed windows. The space is breathtaking, the amenities plenty, and the location just quiet enough yet close to any modern conveniences. My daughter loved using the hot tub each evening and waking up to view the waterfall from above. This is our second Box Hop, and this one is my preferred location.

An Amazing House
The house lived up to all of our expectations and even surpassed them. Perfect for our family of four. We loved the view of the waterfall through the floor! The hosts provide everything you could possibly need, including fresh coffee beans from a local roaster. The Hocking Hills area is a gorgeous place to discover.

Beautifully decorated with lots of windows to enjoy the sunlight and an amazing view. It was also right over a waterfall which was really cool. Close to coffee shops, antique shopping, and hiking in Hocking Hills. Very clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend.

Top Notch Stay at the Ellwood Box Hop!
