ABOUT THIS HOP
In 2018, Emily and Seth Britt followed their intuition and built something that didn't exist yet in Hocking Hills: a home made from three intermodal shipping containers. They called it the OG, because it was the very first of its kind in the region. Six properties later, the OG is still a guest-favorite.
Perched on 18.5 acres with a rooftop patio and views of the ravine below, it includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms (with a soaking tub on the first floor), and a rooftop patio you reach through an all-glass rolling garage door. It’s one of the few Hocking Hills 3 bedroom cabin rentals that also welcomes pets, so bring your entire crew, and enjoy the plethora of views.

THE SPACE
Roomy Enough for the Whole Family
Don't be fooled by the OG’s footprint. There's room for eight at the dinner table and at least three in the kitchen at one time, plus a spiral staircase connecting the decks if you want to stargaze or mix a cocktail above the treeline.
Outside, the wrap-around deck looks out over the ravine with a gas grill, a fire table, and a hanging porch swing. The 6-person hot tub is tucked among the trees nearby, making it the perfect sanctuary after a long day of adventure, which you can easily access via the hiking trails located right on the property.

Hocking Hills, Ohio
The Hocking Hills region sits on the Allegheny Plateau in Appalachian Ohio, primarily in Hocking County. Ancient Blackhand Sandstone shaped the cliffs, gorges, and rock shelters that define this landscape. The OG's ravine views put you right inside it. It’s located only 12 miles from Hocking Hills State Park, 5 miles from Cantwell Cliffs, and 8 miles from Rock House Trail, with zip-lining, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, and the John Glenn Astronomy Park all within easy reach, along with local shops, restaurants, and breweries (see our local favorites here).

Getting Here & Property Info
GETTING HERE
The driveway to this Hocking Hills pet-friendly cabin is a long gravel road with a few steep spots and turns. During inclement weather, an all-wheel-drive or 4-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended. The driveway is maintained by a local company. The parking area is situated about 100 feet from the house, with a walking path to the front door.
PROPERTY ACCESS
The home is accessed with a key in a lockbox next to the door. Contactless check-in makes arrival seamless at any hour.
PET POLICY
The OG welcomes up to 2 dogs. A $100 pet fee is due at the time of booking. We ask that you keep dogs off the furniture, don't leave them unattended at the house, and clean up any waste.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Your 50% deposit made at the time of booking is non-refundable. Your full balance can be applied to booking one of our other houses and/or different dates if done more than 30 days prior to your stay. If you paid in full when you booked, a 50% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 30 days before your stay. The cleaning fee will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to your stay.

Perfect Mother-Daughter Weekend Hopper!
Beautiful and so unique! A true nature oasis with wonderful natural light through perfectly placed windows. The space is breathtaking, the amenities plenty, and the location just quiet enough yet close to any modern conveniences. My daughter loved using the hot tub each evening and waking up to view the waterfall from above. This is our second Box Hop, and this one is my preferred location.

An Amazing House
The house lived up to all of our expectations and even surpassed them. Perfect for our family of four. We loved the view of the waterfall through the floor! The hosts provide everything you could possibly need, including fresh coffee beans from a local roaster. The Hocking Hills area is a gorgeous place to discover.

Relaxing Stay

Top Notch Stay at the Ellwood Box Hop!
