ABOUT THIS HOP
The Overlook was built at one of the highest points on the 75-acre parcel, tucked right up inside a cliff face with rolling Hocking Hills acres spreading out below. Once you see it, you’ll understand that there was really no other name that fit.
What makes The Overlook strikingly peculiar is the layout. Emily and Seth designed it like a beach house, with the kitchen and all the living areas sitting on the second floor, elevated and open, so you're always looking out at something worth looking at. This is one of those Hocking Hills cabins with a view that doesn't let you forget where you are, even from the couch.

THE SPACE
Elevated in Every Sense
The second-floor living area is the heart of the house. The gas fireplace anchors the space through the colder months, and the deck off the upper floor stretches out over the vast Hocking Hills region. The kitchen is fully stocked, with room for the whole group to enjoy dinner together at the table.
Outside, Box Hop has created trail maps so guests can hike the property and admire the rock cliffs, caves, crevasses, and a large waterfall just steps from the front door. For a Hocking Hills cabin with a fireplace that also puts a waterfall and a cliff-face hot tub in the same trip, the Overlook checks all the boxes.

THE AREA
Hocking Hills, Ohio
The Hocking Hills region sits on the Allegheny Plateau in Appalachian Ohio, carved over millennia by the same ancient Blackhand Sandstone formation responsible for every dramatic cliff face, hidden gorge, and rock shelter in the area. Most people drive to see those formations. At the Overlook, you're already inside one. One of the preeminent cabins with a view in Hocking Hills, the space also puts you close to the geology.

Getting Here & Property Info
GETTING HERE
The driveway to this Hocking Hills cabin with a fireplace is a long gravel road that climbs toward the property. During inclement weather, an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. The driveway is maintained by a local company.
PROPERTY ACCESS
The home is accessed with a key in a lockbox next to the door. Contactless check-in makes arrival seamless at any hour.
PET POLICY
The Overlook welcomes up to 2 dogs. A $100 pet fee per pet is due at the time of booking. We ask that you keep dogs off the furniture, don't leave them unattended at the house, and clean up any waste.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Your 50% deposit made at the time of booking is non-refundable. Your full balance can be applied to booking one of our other houses and/or different dates if done more than 30 days prior to your stay. If you paid in full when you booked, a 50% refund will be given if the cancellation is made more than 30 days before your stay. The cleaning fee will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to your stay.

The best time with family!

Great getaway!
The Overlook is great for a family, with multiple bedrooms, awesome kitchen and dining table, couches, fire pit, and 2nd floor deck. The place was clean, the location super-convenient, and amenities are great.

A Restful Few Days
The Overlook itself is stunning. It's much larger than we anticipated. Our boys loved the lofted bunk bed. Seth and Lauren were responsive to all of our needs. Will be staying again for sure!

Fantastic Stay at The Overlook Box Hop
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent two night stay at The Overlook. The property is gorgeous and was stocked with all the supplies we needed for our getaway. They have thought of everything and supply very thoughtful extra touches as well. My husband and I were there with our two adult children and we had more than enough space to spread out. We cooked our own meals and the kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking supplies we needed.

Girls Weekend 10/10
This was by far the cutest place to stay in Hocking Hills. Loved how creative and homey the space was. Included everything for us from having a bonfire to making dinner and enjoying our surroundings. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and playing card games in the living room! Was a perfect Galentines weekend in the perfect place!
